To Blog or Not to Blog?
Do you have a Blog? It hasn’t been that long since I started this one and had no clue how to even begin. And sadly, I still don’t have much clue how to actually do one that requires me to do more than type out a bit about our lives and add in a few pictures. But wait, that’s why I started this blog isn’t it? It’s here because I wanted a place for the people we love to be able to see the things we are experiencing. That’s why its title at today.com is livingabroad and why the title of the blog is Life in the Philippines. I didn’t start this as a blog learning experience, it was a sharing avenue. Lately I have not done a very good job of maintaining a regular posting schedule. I started off at a great pace but trickled over the months. I do find when we are busy doing things here, I am more apt to add a few lines regularly so you all know what we are up to. Again that was the intent but I often let myself get caught up in the busy work world and forget to share.
So back to the question, do you blog? If not, why not? I loved to write as a teen. Poems were a regular part of my life and writing was my greatest love. I lost my focus over the years and strayed away. But the love was true and last year I saw a forum message about Associated Content where you could write articles for publication. I followed the link, signed up and have written more than 150 articles. During that article writing process I ran across the writings of Michelle Devon (Michy) from Accentuate Services and followed her to the Writers Forum at AS . The amount of support and friendship I’ve found at this forum is termendous. That was almost a year ago and I find myself checking on the AS Writers Forum every day, multiple times a day. What does this have to do with blogging? Everything! Today Michy issued a challenge. Get back to blogging. Make it part of your regular life. As usual, Michy is right. She gave her reasons for why you should blog on her Freelancing and Fiction blog. Why not read her blog and accept her challenge to blog also?
I started the blog because it makes me happy to share our lives with family and friends. It lets me share on my time zone and them read on theirs. I don’t have to figure out what time of day it is for everyone, or who is at work. This is my means of saying hello whenever I can, and your way of seeing it when you have the chance. Everyone blogs for a different reason. This is mine and I intend to do so more frequently. Thanks for the push back in the right direction Michy.
You bet Michy. I am already sizing pictures to do another blog on places visited recently.
