So where have I been?
You may have noticed the no update status of the blog. Did I take a vacation? Nope. I have been battling a bug and it has about won. I do feel a bit better today but still not great. I wont be venturing outside the house or to far away from the facilities any time soon. It has been a rough few days. I managed to keep some gatorade in me yesterday so I am less dehydrated. Here there are folks who have been diagnosed with amoeba. I had to research just to see what the issue was and frankly I didnt want to know. I dont think this is what I have, I think I will be ok, sure hope I dont have little creatures floating around in me.
I’ll be back to regular blogs soon I hope. In the mean time google 23 foot crocodile Manila and read about the monster in the southern islands.
Sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well, Kathy. I’ve been wondering where you were. Thought maybe you had internet problems. Maybe you’ve been eating too much of that exotic food? How about some good old fashion mashed potatoes or plain white rice …. something bland to start with. Oh, and some good old chicken noodle soup, that cures everything!
Hope you’re feeling better soon. Judy
Sorry you aren’t feeling well. I wondered if you may have picked up a bug of some sort from eating the ice cream? When we travel, I’ve often wanted to try the different ice creams made from tropical fruits but have been advised against it. Usually the problem is with the water and NOT the fruit but, who knows? BTW, I wasn’t aware people have allergies problems with jackfruit. I’ve eaten lots of it as it’s quite good. However, I may not be so adventuresome next time especially far away from home.
Do any of you have any problems with allergies concerning mangoes? Seems some people can’t tolerate raw mango, especially the skin and the sap. Other friends are only able to eat mango after it’s cooked or baked in bread or cakes.
I am happy to say I am feeling better. I had not eaten ice cream and we wont eat any of it from street vendors for the very reason you mention Carol. We only buy what is from the packaged distributors. Johnnie’s allergy is strange, it is for many things that have seeds. He cannot eat apples, or plums, or peaches or pears. But he has no problem with citrus with a seed. He loves manoes and eats many of them. The jack fruit really took him by surprise.
