Internet Addiction
Hi My name is Kathy and I am an Internet Addict. Well, mostly anyhow. And since Friday the internet has been very sporadic here with it being totally out since about noon Saturday. Construction in the area did something to mess up the lines. I’ll justify my addiction and reason for checking the modem repeatedly by saying that my job is done via telecommuting so no internet means no connection to work. And now that we are here in the Philippines, my telephone connection to the US is via the internet so when the net is out, the phone is out also. Boy you forget how you rely on things like Google until you don’t have it. I must google things I want to know a hundred times a day. Need to know how to cook something? Google search time! Need the phone number of the cable company to find out when the internet will be back up? Google time. Oh Wait, that doesn’t work does it? Today was interesting as I worked on documents for the job without access to a lot of things I normally use. I was able to borrow a connection intermittantly to get to email and an occassional web site. It was enough to feed my internet addiction for a short while and thankfully by late afternoon there is a connection. It’ s not totally restored but it does support web pages to a degree. I’ll skip picture posting for today. I’ve lost enough data on the server not found pages over the past few days to not tempt fate again!
For the record I guess my connection was not so great, I just found this did not publish, it was Monday’s message and now it is Tuesday for us and this is still waiting to show up!
