Mall of Asia, World’s Third Largest Mall
Most people who know me would never think that I would be attracted to a shopping mall. I’m not really attracted to the shopping, or to the crowds, but this mall truly is an amazing thing to look at and consider. Mall of Asia is the 3rd largest mall in the world and the largest in the Philippines. If you look at their web page you can see a map of the entire mall and a description of it. Two million bags of cement and 44,000 gallons of paint are what it took to build this place. There are 8000 parking spaces and it has a full IMAX theater and a ice skating rink. As I mentioned before there is Krispy Kreme at Mall of Asia. There is also a Haagen Daas, a TGI Fridays, Starbucks, and a host of other restaurants and drink shops. That goes along with the many shopping stores, and as all malls here have, the grocery store. You really have to have your bearings about you to know where you parked and how to get back to that point. But even as spectacular as what is in the mall seems, this is what you see as you drive up.
It is really a beautiful display in front of the mall. Another interesting fact about Mall of Asia is they allow pets in all non air conditioned areas. We have not gotten brave enough to take Duchess the Cat Hound out yet but maybe one day we’ll give it a try.
